Lovely and divine, the lowly calendula flower ⎯ commonly known as marigold ⎯ is native to Mediterranean countries where it has been used since ancient times in topical ointments and washes for wounds and ulcers. Calendula is a sensitive skin workhorse. Ours has been CO2 extracted from the flower and has such a mild characteristic scent that most would call it unscented. It's wildcrafted from Egypt and infused in an organic virgin coconut oil from Brazil. The mildest, most diffuse organic lavender adds a gentle layer of antibacterial comfort. Essential oil of lavender was used to clean hospitals through WWI and for centuries, it was used as the best treatment for burns. Essential oil of lavender is anti-bacterial, anti-itch, deodorizing and calming. Lavender is still celebrated for it's gentle cleaning effects on skin and its ability to calm the senses. Calendula is known the world over as the go-to oil for infants because of its suitability for baby's sensitive skin.
